Hi - my name is Neil Kieran. I am the project worker for the Islington 1-2-1 Self-advocacy project. It is here to support people with learning difficulties to make our voices heard through a user-led self-advocacy service.
We are helping raise awareness of the choices people with learning difficulties have in their lives and helping them to act on those choices.
This service is free and confidential.
You can telephone me on 0207 820 7666.
Or you can write to me at the People First address.

Or you can email me neil@peoplefirstltd.com
You can contact Neil the project worker by phone, fax, letter or email. You will be asked some basic questions on the referral form.
You will then be advised if this is the right service for you or you will be given ideas of who else may be able to help you.
The project worker will then arrange a time and place for you to meet with him and his support worker. You can choose if you want to bring someone with you and if so, who that person is.
At the meeting we will talk you through the issues you want the project worker to support you with. We can't always guarantee to have all the answers, but we will always go through with you what it is we have agreed to help you with and how we are planning to work with you.
We aim to help you speak up and sort out the issues you bring to us, but whatever happens, we will have a last meeting with you to get feedback from you about our service.
