Meetings were held quarterly up until December 2021,
As a result of issues raised by Andrew Lee in 2018 about inaccessible DWP documents the Chair asked People First to deliver ‘Easy Read’ training for all regional DWP Job Centre Plus managers (n-30). The DWP central team then looked at how much information DWP provided and what documents should be prioritised to put in to easy read. This led to People First advising on the final easy read version of a PIP application form.
Andrew Lee also shared his personal experience of making a PIP application and provided recommendations to improve the process.
