Down's Syndrome Awareness Training

Aim

This half day course gives an understanding of what Down's syndrome is, the experiences and support needs of people with Down's Syndrome. 

Content

  1. Supports the recognition of Down's Syndrome
  2. Explores different ways to communicate
  3. Explores the history of Down's Syndrome
  4. Explores the challenges that people face in society today

Benefits

You will be better able to recognise the characteristics of Down's Syndrome and work in a way which meets the access and communication needs of this group of disabled people.

The people who you provide services for will feel less excluded and that there are fewer barriers to face, as their needs are not commonly recognised.
